Generally, it is recommended that children start learning piano between the ages of 6 and 9. At this age, children have developed the necessary motor skills and cognitive abilities to learn the basics of playing the piano. However, it's never too late to start learning piano. Adults of all ages can also benefit from piano lessons, whether they are beginners or have some previous experience.

At Piano Allegro we use the RCM guidelines and suggested materials to prepare students for RCM exams is an effective way to ensure that students are studying the appropriate repertoire and technical exercises for their level. It also helps to ensure that students are developing the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the exam, including sight-reading, ear training, and music theory.

In addition to using the RCM guidelines and suggested materials, students will be taught by qualified music teachers who will provide personalized instruction and feedback to help students improve their playing and prepare for the exam.

Our teachers can help students identify areas of weakness and provide targeted exercises and practice strategies to address those areas. They can also offer guidance and support throughout the exam preparation process, which can help to reduce stress and increase confidence.
